Melanie Sponholz, MSPT, CCEP, CHC, CHPC, is the chief compliance officer for Waud Capital Partners, Healthcare. Waud is a leading middle-market private equity firm with a focus on health care and business and technology services. Professor Sponholz works closely with the Waud Investment teams and portfolio company leadership to provide strategic compliance guidance and oversight, including risk assessment, compliance program and team development, audit and investigation direction, compliance training and education, and due diligence and integration strategy and execution. Previously, she served as chief compliance officer at BioScrip, Home Solutions, and Fox Rehabilitation. She is a frequent speaker on health care compliance and an active member of the Health Care Compliance Association, Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, and Health Care Finance Management Association. Professor Sponholz strives to support the compliance profession by mentoring and creating networking and development opportunities for her team and others in the field. Professor Sponholz holds a BA, magna cum laude, from Drew University and an MS, with honors, from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, as well as numerous credentials from the Compliance Certification Board.
